Will You Stand Strong for America?

In our book, Stand Strong America, Alex McFarland and I wanted to encourage Americans with three reasons why they should and can stand strong for America. We hope these three realities will challenge you as we all seek to improve our nation’s greatness in the days ahead.

Challenge #1: It’s Personal

Changing our nation is fundamentally not about who is in the White House, but what happens in your house and in your heart.

True national renewal takes places only when a movement of men and women choose to evaluate their heart and choose to walk according to the ways of God.

What does it mean to follow the Lord?

The Great Commandment offers a simple summary: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:37– 40).

When we call out to the Lord for salvation (John 3:16; Romans 10:9), we experience forgiveness and eternal life. With God as our Lord, we seek to live each day in ways that honor Him and help others grow in faith.

Challenge #2: It’s Urgent

The Bible speaks about urgency in a number of ways. Our personal salvation is urgent because we are uncertain of how long we will live. Furthermore, Christ will return at any moment, meaning we are to live holy lives each day (1 Thessalonians 4:13– 18). Yet the need to stand strong for America is also urgent. Each day that we do not stand strong, events transpire that lead our nation steps closer to a culture in which evil reigns and darkness grows.

Challenge #3: It’s Essential

In the past, perhaps you felt like your role didn’t matter as much. You weren’t too concerned about getting involved in the cultural because there were others to help, or the situation didn’t seem that bad. Even if this might have been true in the past, it is no longer the case today. Your involvement is no longer optional; your commitment is essential.

Any action you take today could change the lives of your immediate family, your community, or even your nation. You’ll never know if you don’t take the opportunity to stand strong for America where you stand today. As you do, as we do, and as others join us, we’ll create a force greater than any political party, as the family of God in America unites to live as “one nation under God, indivisible and with justice for all.”
