Watch out for T.D. Jakes

Bishop Jakes believes in modalism, which means that he thinks that the One God revealed Himself in three distinct modes or manifestations. According to Jakes, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not distinct Persons of the Godhead, but are instead one and the same person.

To support his stance, Jakes has given an illustration using the example of water in its three different forms: ice, water, and steam. While this analogy may seem fitting, it is not biblical and affirms modalism, as it implies that each "Person" is just a mode depending on the environment. This makes it sound like God changes Himself into a particular substance or reveals Himself in a particular way to the world.
